BIRD WATCHING

For lovers of Bird Watching and nature photography, the Oglio River Park can offer numerous ideas for nature photography enthusiasts. Numerous is in fact the fluvial fauna present on the banks of the watercourse. 300 meters from our B&B on the left bank of the Oglio River  there is also the Torbiere di Marcaria nature reserve, an old river route abandoned by the river. The peat bogs of Marcaria have assumed considerable ornithological importance in recent years due to the settlement of a heronry (heron colony) which has several hundred nests on reeds, gray willows and isolated hybrid poplars. The Oasis is equipped with huts, lookout towers  and picnic area. The reserve is the destination of many nature photographers, thanks to the large number of bird species present. Recently, roe deer, fox, badger and red squirrel have also been reported and photographed.  About 3.5 km away is the wetland of the Margonare  and Belforte peat bog also famous among bird-watching enthusiasts.
